With a free hand private schools are in a happy mood. There couldn’t have been a better Christmas Gift for them. Open hands to make admission guidelines leaving the RTE into a dump! That does sound great, at least to the Principals of school who sit with their so called long stick – yards (smiling with a smirking smile at the pathetic condition of parents)! After all it’s a democracy and everyone here has a equal right to make money – pardoning the guilt that might flow from the corner of the Father’s ears!!.
Adding to the woes and cries of parents who are shouting in the top of the school admission fees (skyrocketing in fact) are the admission dates. School Admission days for Nursery and others as proposed by the ever sought after and most caring schools around extend between 1st January – March 31st 2011. That seems to be pretty good 3 months in hand for school admission. But that’s the real catch 22. This mentioned date could have been really good had there been a common date for school admissions; but this is not the case.
Various schools are offering different dates for admission form filling. Like Springdales School, Pusa Road will sell forms somewhere around January 3rd; Bal Bharti Public School, Ganga Ram Hospital Marg anywhere between January15th to 25th, AIS offers its admission forms from Jan 3rd and gives 2 weeks for form submission…. And so on. For the nursery class, admissions will began from December 15th.
The big problem is this – schools refund the admission fee after a month of admission procedure completion. This way not only they will have to keep an extra saving for filling admission forms of different schools. Financially too, this will be a big hit on parent’s pocket. Different days extending to three months will lead to more chaos. In all, it will be more exhaustive and torturous for parents as well as school kids.
What I think is why there is no way Govt. could have found a simple way to put an end to all these un-necessary complexities? Why?
